If you eat a balanced diet and pay attention to your calorie balance, you can achieve a lot in combination with sport. The important thing is that it is fun, that you don‘t starve yourself but that the calories consumed during exercise are included in the balance.
Sport is important because it improves the metabolism, strengthens the cardiovascular system and promotes muscle building. We provide you with valuable and particularly gently processed natural nutrients and superfoods that give your body what it needs so that you can feel good all round as you achieve your goals and take on your daily challenge.
Antioxidants
Antioxidants give your beauty the boost it needs. Antioxidants fight free radicals. Free radicals are highly aggressive oxygen-rich compounds that are constantly formed in our body during numerous metabolic processes. Certain external influences, such as smoking in particular, but also UV rays and certain environmental chemicals, even encourage the formation of free radicals. Our body has numerous defense mechanisms to ward off the damage caused by these radical attacks.
For example, there are enzymes whose task is to detoxify free radicals. However, antioxidants (e.g. vitamin E, vitamin C, beta-carotene), which we take in with our food, are particularly important in rendering radicals harmless. They are found in large quantities in maqui, acai, mulberries and blueberries. Mulberries, for example, contain resveratrol, an antioxidant in red wine. Resveratrol prevents oxidative stress, promotes heart health and supports normal cell reproduction.
Proteins
Proteins are the basic building blocks of all human cells. Unlike carbohydrates and fats, the body cannot store proteins, so amino acids - the smallest unit from which proteins are made - must be constantly supplied. Amino acids play a crucial role in vital processes in the body. Lysine, for example, is responsible for maintaining connective and muscle tissue. Lysine is synthesized to produce carnitine, which is often used to lose weight and build muscle. Pulses are a good source, but the cooking water from potatoes can also contain lysine.
A particularly important function of proteins is to build new cells or repair existing cells. Proteins support and repair our muscle fibers, which is important when we have exerted ourselves heavily during exercise. High-quality vegetable protein is also an essential component of our Sopperfood mixes.
Dietary fiber
Dietary fibres are carbohydrates that can hardly or not at all be broken down in the small intestine and therefore reach the large intestine undigested. There they bind water, ensure that the digestive tract is sufficiently filled and accelerate the processes. As a result, the intestine comes into contact with possible toxins for a shorter time, which promotes intestinal health. Bacteria located in the large intestine can break down water-soluble fiber. This means that they are available to the intestinal cells as an energy source to a limited extent.
Vitamins and minerals
If you take in enough minerals with your food, you keep your body in balance. The body needs sufficient vitamins (e.g. vitamin B) and minerals (magnesium, calcium and selenium) so that the metabolism can work properly and run at full speed. In the formation of cells and tissues, minerals are a type of micronutrient that is important for our general health. Among the numerous minerals, zinc in particular is an active immunity booster that regulates cell production in our immune system and fights inflammation.
